The limited series will consist of a total of eight episodes with Mike Flanagan and his frequent collaborator, Michael Fimognari, each directing four of the episodes. Taking its title from an 1839 short story by gothic writer Edgar Allan Poe, the series will take inspiration from that specific story as well as several of his other works.
Written by Edgar Allan Poe, The Fall of the House of Usher and Other Tales was first published in 1839 in Burton’s Gentleman’s Magazine. The short story was then included in Allen Poe’s collection of published short stories in the book Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque. That should change in the next few months, as the streamer is taking the project to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 12.
